ILLEGAL FIREARM DISCOVERED DURING STOP AND SEARCH

Basseterre, St. Kitts, October 4, 2017 (RSCNPF): A citizen Safety patrol by members of the Tactical Units conducted a stop and search at South East Peninsula on Monday 2 October 2017, about 6:50 PM, during the search an illegal firearm and a large number of pellets were seized.

While conducting searches on random vehicles, the patrol stopped and searched a resident of Ramsbury Site, Nevis, and discovered and seized a MagTech .22 Air Rifle with a large amount of pellets. The resident and the find were taken into police custody.

This brings the total of illegal firearms seized so far in 2017 to Forty (40).
