BASSETERRE (29th April, 2017): The world’s largest cruise ship, the Harmony of the Seas, will be making its inaugural call next week Wednesday 3rd May, bringing more than 6,700 passengers to St. Kitts.
The Harmony of the Seas is the newest and largest addition to the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line’s, Oasis Class Fleet. The ship has a maximum capacity of 6,780 passengers, and is scheduled to visit the island every two weeks from May through August.
Minister of Tourism the Hon. Lindsay F.P. Grant said the scheduled arrival of the world’s largest cruise ship is testament to the growing infrastructure and continuing appeal of St. Kitts as a vibrant and authentic Caribbean destination.
“This speaks volumes to the partnership between St. Kitts and Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. Indeed, we should be proud and celebrate our achievements of the unprecedented growth in the cruise sector,” Minister Grant said. “However, we need to be cognizant that we are operating in a competitive global environment, and the onus is on us to innovate our product array, and strive always to deliver the best possible customer service.”
Minister Grant will lead an official delegation of tourism stakeholders and partners on-board the Harmony of the Seas to participate in a plaque exchange ceremony, to commemorate the ship’s inaugural visit to St. Kitts.
